  • We are both! Smart PNW has an energy division, Energy Smart Pacific, that focuses 100% of its time and energy on blower door tests.

  • An energy audit incorporates a blower door test (see below), a thermal camera, and a smoke stick to detect air leaks and energy vulnerabilities in your home.

Yes! After our technicians assess your home, they will give you a report with your estimated energy savings should you repair and seal the air leaks in your home.

  • The number one cause of energy loss is air leakage. It doesn’t matter how well insulated your home is, if there are any leaks in your home, you’ll have cold spots and air leakage. A blower door test determines where the air leaks and drafts are in your home so you can repair them.

You need a blower door test if you are doing new construction (and want to pass your final inspection), or you want to properly insulate and seal your home to save on your energy bill.

Can you smell smoke inside your home when there are wildfires outside or your neighbor is barbecuing? If so, that means you have air leaks and the quality of the air in your home is compromised. Protect yourself and your loved ones by sealing the air leaks.

  • WA state energy code requires that all new construction (and additions over 450 sqft) pass a blower door test in order for an inspector to sign off on your final inspection. No blower door test, no passed home inspection.

  • No need to worry — if your blower door test fails, our technicians won’t just slap a fail sticker on your house and leave. Our technicians take the time to diagnose the problem areas and work with you to repair the issues.
