Our Story
Smart PNW was founded by James Roddy and his wife, Jill Roddy. The Roddys wanted to start a company to provide local families with employment opportunities and education about energy efficiency and home improvements.
In addition to helping the planet, the Roddys’ hearts lie with their community and PNW neighbors — helping people make their houses safer, energy efficient, and feel like home is what they live for.
James is a US Army Veteran and brings over 10 years of experience in the construction industry, including 5 years focused on energy-efficient construction. He loves diving into new projects and working closely with builders and home owners to make sure they feel comfortable and confident in the process. Jill thrives on the creative side of renovating and home upgrades - she doesn’t stop until her designs create the perfect blend of function, beauty, and comfort.
The Roddys enjoy being outdoors in the PNW and just this year started backpacking together. They’re still figuring out how to drag their two cats, Cheeto and Chester, and corgi, Dot, backpacking too.
